She was pretty certain that Keith didn’t wish to return the affection that she clearly felt for him. He was always distant around her, always treated her as nothing more than a friend. Even though she hated the thought of him not wanting to be with her, she was growing to accept it knowing that being friends was better than nothing at all.
The young woman paused for a moment and looked over at Keith. Keith was lost in thought, as usual, Heather just shrugged.
“Keith, I’m just going to get something from your office. Bevan mentioned that you had a rubix…”
The man didn’t reply, just waved her on as if his own thoughts were more important than she was. She had noticed that he had been distracted lately and she was sure it had something to do with the run in he had had with his mother. Heather didn’t ask about it. She figured he’d come round in his own time. Instead she entered his office, looking around for the item she wanted.
The first thing she noticed was that the walls were covered with pictures of a woman. Briefly she wondered who it was until she realised something. Upon realising this, the woman stormed out of the room
“… Why do you have photos of me all over your office?” …

He knew that his best friend was waiting for him, the two of them had their usual plans to go out for a couple of drinks. A “boy’s night out”, so to speak.
“Hello, Bevan,” Esmond said as he made his way down the staircase.
Esmond couldn’t help but smirk as his friend quickly looked away from him. He wasn’t stupid, he knew that he was an attractive man and he enjoyed making Bevan feel uncomfortable around him. Bevan, of course, hated this and this was something else that Esmond knew. The Chief Warlock shook his head. Silvanus was “lost in thought” a lot, at least he was when he thought that Esmond wasn’t looking. Summers didn’t know what it was about so he never questioned his friend, but he could guess…
